Recruitment process

During periods of recruitment, if you are shortlisted you will be invited to come for an interview about volunteering within the Trust. We may ask you:

  • Why you are interested in volunteering
  • What new skills you would like to learn through your volunteer placement
  • How much time you have to offer
  • What qualities and skills you feel you have to offer

If you are shortlisted for an interview, you will be asked to bring in some form of identification and proof of address so that we can initiate the application for a disclosure and barring service (DBS). This is now done online but if you have no computer access we can make alternative arrangements.

This is standard procedure across all NHS organisations and is nothing to worry about!

What happens if I am successful?

If you are successful we will process your references, Occupational Health clearance and a Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check before you can proceed.

In addition you will be required to attend a half day mandatory training session to complete your application process. Depending on the voluntary role additional training may be required.
