In-patients

If you require admitting for your underlying condition, you will likely be admitted to our haematology wards either P3 or O1.

If the reason for admission is a different problem, the haemophilia & thrombosis team will work with the admitting service & visit you in your alternative location to review & meet additional care needs. This is usually the case when patients are admitted for surgery.

Contacting us

The registered patient group within the haemophilia & thrombosis centre can experience a wide range of symptoms & associated conditions. As such they have access to 24/7 service for assessment & treatment of clinical concerns.
During the working hours of Monday – Friday 8-5pm the service is available via telephone on 0114 2713211 where the calls are triaged by our reception team before being picked up by our specialist nurses. Additionally, access can be gained to the team via email at sth.haemophiliacentre@nhs.net

Outside of the above hours patients and other healthcare professionals can access advice & access to care provision via STHFT switchboard 0114 2711900 & asking to speak with a doctor on call for bleeding disorders.

For patients with concerns about a new thrombosis, the pathway is to attend your local emergency department. The Haemophilia & Thrombosis Centre no longer provide a thrombosis diagnosis service.
