The Sheffield Breast Imaging Service is located in the Outpatient Department at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The service provides both screening and symptomatic services.
Screening Service
The Breast Screening Service provides breast screening for women living in the Sheffield region. Women aged between 50 and 70 are invited for breast screening as part of the NHS breast screening programme every three years.
Symptomatic service
The symptomatic service provides imaging as part of the one-stop rapid diagnostics breast clinic for women who have been referred from their general practitioner with a breast problem, follow-up mammography for women with a cancer diagnosis and family history screening service for women with an increased risk of breast cancer.
