Airway course

The Sheffield Obstetric Difficult Airway course, otherwise known as the SODA course, is an unique educational course.

The course teaches advanced airway skills and explores human factors during emergency simulated scenarios.

Our ultimate aim is to increase the safety of the obstetric patient during general anaesthesia.

The course is approved for 6 CPD points by the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) and consists of lectures, practical advance airway workshops and simulation. It has also been approved by the Difficult Airway Society (DAS)

The SODA course has been established since 2014 and is held at the Clinical skills centre on R-floor of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield.
