Renal genetic diseases service

Headed by Professor Albert Ong, our renal genetic diseases service provides specialist treatment for patients with inherited kidney diseases. This includes tolvaptan for patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease and everolimus for patients with tuberous sclerosis. Patients receiving these treatments are cared for by a multidisciplinary team. A monthly diagnostic genetics clinic is run by Professor Ong and Dr Cook (Consultant in Clinical Genetics), providing diagnostic testing and counselling for patients with hereditary kidney diseases.
