Aim of the service

This nurse-led service for adults with epilepsy has been established for many years and is at the hub of epilepsy management in Sheffield. It is an innovative, dynamic department staffed by Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Clinical Manager, with secretarial support.

Referral criteria:

  • Patients need to be 16yrs old or over 
  • Patients need to have been under the ongoing care of an Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust neurologist within the past two years 
  • Patients need to have a GP in the Sheffield, Chesterfield or Rotherham area

For patients living in Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham there are local nurse specialist services as follows:
