Northern General, Medical Education Centre
Each of the facilities has full audio visual capabilities and 2 video conferencing rooms for live cross city links.
We are able to offer support for everything from small educational meetings to a full conference service including, advertising, administrative support, all audio visual and catering services. The staff in the department are friendly and helpful and would be happy to deal with any of your educational needs or enquiries.
The Medical Education Centre at the Northern General Hospital is a purposed built facility comprising of the following:
Lecture Theatre 1 – seats 100 people and has full audiovisual capabilities
Lecture Theatre 2 – seats 200 people and has full audiovisual and video conferencing facilities
NB: Both lecture theatres are capable of “Live Case” broadcast from a number of clinical locations on the Northern campus, and have STH intranet points.
Postgraduate Common Room – is a multifunction facility suitable for up to 40 people or for a refreshment area for the Lecture theatre.
Exhibition area – This, double height, ground floor space is adjacent to both lecture theatres and the Postgraduate Common Room and is suitable as an exhibition or registration space or as additional refreshment area.
Undergraduate Common Room – a multifunction facility seating up to 60 people with full audiovisual and video conferencing capabilities.
Seminar Rooms 1 – 6 - small meeting/breakout rooms adjacent to each other. Each room can be equipped with laptop and data projector for presentation purposes.
NB: Seminar Rooms 4, 5 and 6 have STH Intranet points
Procedural Skills Centre – Comprises of purpose designed “Wet Lab” facility which houses a number of simulators and other skills equipment and a basic surgical skills practice room (see Procedural Skills tab for further information.)
