Gastrointestinal Investigations
The GI Investigation Unit at the Northern General Hospital and the Westfield Investigation Unit at the (Royal Hallamshire Hospital provide a wide range of detailed upper and lower GI diagnostic tests and also provides a pelvic floor retraining service.
The tests enable the referring clinician to gain detailed information on the physiology of the GI tract using state of the art equipment.
We see and care for patients with the following conditions:
- Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease,
- dysphagia,
- malabsorption due to small bowel overgrowth or lactase insufficiency,
- rectal cancer,
- faecal incontinence
- obstructive defaecation.
