Oral Health Promotion

We are part of Community & Special Care Dentistry which is hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trust.

Our aim is to provide an oral health improvement programme in Sheffield to improve oral health for our local communities and reduce inequalities particularly of children and young people. We cover the whole of Sheffield and work within a range of settings through partnerships between health, local authorities and the voluntary and independent sector.

The main area of activity focuses on optimising exposure to fluoride, partnership working and tobacco control.

More information about the activities of the oral health promotion team and oral health improvement in Sheffield can be found in the Sheffield Oral Health Improvement Strategy.
