Sheffield GP Assessment Unit
Sheffield GP Assessment Unit (Sheffield GPAU) is a Primary care led unit that is providing service for patients who need rapid diagnostic tests, medical assessment and GP-led clinical support, including therapy, nursing and treatment, and who maybe at risk of admission require acute hospital beds.
The GPAU accepts referrals from primary care and transfers from secondary care A&E and in the short term operates seven days per week 9.00am – 9.00pm.
The Unit is based on Firth1 in the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.
