Community Intermediate Care Service

The Community Intermediate Care Service (CICS) offers short term care and rehabilitation to people at home who have experienced a period of ill health or have been in hospital. The service aims to enable people to regain their independence and reduce the need for ongoing support with tasks, such as washing and dressing.

A range of support is provided by experienced staff working together to deliver care and rehabilitation that is tailored to meet individual needs. Treatment may be provided from nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, clinical psychologists, dieticians, podiatrists, pharmacists, geriatricians and social workers.

This unique, holistic approach ensures people receive all the care and rehabilitation they need at the right time by one service and helps those who can, to recover more quickly.
