Our impact

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK, and is recognised internationally for its work in neurosciences, spinal injuries, cancer, transplantation and orthopaedics.

Research is critical to transforming patient care and last year over 8,500 patients took part in studies run from the Trust.

High performing Trust

The Trust has seen one of the biggest rises in the number of research studies it is offering to its patients over the past year, increasing the number of clinical research studies it undertook by 20% in 2015/16 – the fifth-highest surge in the country.
