New ICD patient support group
A support group for patients who have an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) is being set-up at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
The group will provide an opportunity for patients to meet others with ICDs and share experiences and provide peer support.
There will also be talks and presentations from experts and representatives from device manufacturers so that patients can ask questions about their devices.
Light refreshments will be provided. Places are limited and so a maximum of one friend or relative may attend with the patient.
The first meeting will take place on Wednesday 20th September 2023, 10:30-13:30 at the Medical Education Centre at the Northern General Hospital.
