Podiatry service awarded customer service quality standard for 23rd year running

The Podiatry Service at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals has retained a Customer Service Excellence Standard for the 23rd year running, recognising the high quality service and care it provides to patients with foot problems.

The team, which provides patients with care in the community and in hospital, is one of only a few public services in Sheffield to hold the Government-accredited mark for best practice in customer service.

Dr Lisa Farndon, who leads on customer care for the service, said: “We are so proud to retain this esteemed customer service quality standard for another year. It demonstrates what a dedicated team of podiatrists and support staff we have working in our department.”

The service was fully compliant with all elements of the standard, and was given two further ‘compliance plus’ elements.

Dr Farndon said: “This means we are achieving above and beyond what this stringent standard requires us to do in delivering efficient, effective, excellent and equitable services for patients with foot problems.

“The assessor was really impressed with the team and spoke with many patients about their experiences of the podiatry service. We demonstrate consistently high patient satisfaction scores, friends and family test results and are really proud to receive lots of compliments from our patients.”
