21 December 2021
From Monday 20th December, people can turn up at the Sheffield NHS Vaccination Centre located at Longley Lane to get their first, second or booster (if eligible) of the COVID-19 vaccine without needing to book an appointment in advance.
To help make it as easy as possible for people in Sheffield to get the COVID-19 vaccine, anyone aged 16 and over can simply walk-in to the centre to get their 1st or 2nd dose of the vaccine. To have a booster you need to be aged 18 or over and be 3 months since your second COVID-19 vaccination.
Following an incredible response from NHS staff to the call for a faster roll-out of COVID-19 booster vaccines, opening hours have also been extended at the centre which is now open from 8am to 10pm up until Thursday 23rd December. Christmas opening hours have also been confirmed and are as follows:
The quieter times for walk-ins are after 12 noon, however staff are working hard to ensure any queues are managed quickly to keep the time you wait to an absolute minimum. You can also book an appointment at the centre to avoid any queues online at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or call 119 free of charge.
The full address of the centre is Sheffield NHS Vaccination Centre Longley Lane, Sheffield S5 7JN.
Additional appointments are also being made available at a number of other centres across South Yorkshire including GP led sites, Community Pharmacies and some hospital sites. Please visit Sheffield Teaching Hospitals website: www.sth.nhs.uk
