ALL STAFF are being encouraged to apply for the 2015 Patient Safety Awards, which are now open for entry.
Joining forces this year with the Patient Safety Congress, the Awards recognise outstanding practice within the NHS and independent healthcare organisations.
Last year Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust won a hat-trick of awards at the prestigious Patient Safety and Care Awards ceremony – scooping the top awards in the Cancer Care, Diabetes Care and Changing Culture categories.
The successful teams were: the Sheffield cancer survivorship and late effects service: a multi-professional approach to care, the Sheffield diabetes footcare team and the Sheffield Microsystem Coaching Academy.
Dr Diana Greenfield, whose team picked up the Cancer Care award for pioneering a cancer survivorship and late effects service providing care for cancer survivors in the months, years and decades after treatment, said: “Receiving the award was a wonderful accolade for our team but particularly good for our patients by raising the profile of cancer survivors and more awareness of the care they need and deserve.”
This year there are 17 categories to choose from:
