MEMBERS of the public are being urged to thank nurses who have gone above and beyond their call of duty by nominating them for a Patient's Choice Award.
Now Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is appealing for members of the public to come forward and vote for a nurse, midwife, healthcare assistant, or student nurse who has made a difference to their or a loved one's lives. Chris Morley, Deputy Chief Nurse for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Every day we hear fantastic stories about how our nurses and care workers have helped transform the lives of patients and loved ones through their hard work and dedication. In many instances patients or their families want to thank individuals for the care and compassion which they have been shown and which often goes above and beyond the normal call of duty. These awards are just one way of expressing that thanks." To nominate a nurse, midwife, or healthcare practitioner for a Patient's Choice Award, members of the public can visit www.nurseawards.co.uk or call 020 8423 1066. The closing date for nominations is Friday 3 January. Finalists will be announced on 31 January 2014. ENDS
