Join the crowd and tell NHS Sheffield CCG about your priorities
The CCG is starting to think about planning for next year. We want to take into account all views about what we are doing and what we should do, as well as considering health needs data, local and national strategies and so on.

We remain committed to our prospectus aims – to improve the quality of care and patient experience, to reduce health inequalities in Sheffield, and to ensure the NHS in Sheffield is affordable. Like the rest of the NHS, we face a major challenge in Sheffield, with flat funding expected over the next few years, but growth in demand for NHS care, because of an ageing population, increases in the incidence of long term conditions and greater public expectation.

Our current main programmes of work, which we would expect to continue next year, include:

  • Right First Time (aiming to keep people well and provide care for more people at home, and to reduce the number and length of hospital stays)
  • Transformation of outpatient care (so more people can get expert care in local settings)
  • Redesign mental health services (again, providing more care more locally)
  • Future Shape Children’s Health (improving children’s health and wellbeing)
  • Development of a new Quality strategy (to respond to the findings of the inquiries into Mid-Staffs hospitals and Winterbourne View care home)

Do you think we are concentrating on the right things with our major areas of work?

What specifically do you think we should aim to improve or change in 2014/15?
