Sheffield Hospitals Charity is seeking applications from anyone interested in becoming a Trustee. The Charity is one of the largest in Sheffield and plays a significant role in improving healthcare and treatment. It invests over £2 million a year into projects that help to make life better for thousands of patients at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, which includes the Northern General, Weston Park, Royal Hallamshire, Jessop Wing and Charles Clifford Dental hospitals.
The Charity is now appealing to local people with senior level expertise to consider submitting an application and becoming a Trustee. The successful applicant will have significant business management experience gained in the NHS or other public or private sector organisations, to enable them to make an effective contribution to the strategic development of the Charity.
David Reynolds, Director of Sheffield Hospitals Charity said: “We would be keen to hear from anyone who wants to make a lasting impact and feels passionate about patients receiving the highest quality of care.
We would like to recruit someone willing to contribute between 6 and 12 days of their time per year. Potential candidates should be able to exercise vision and sound judgement to enable them to build on the Charity’s current success.
The role is unpaid, but it is a very rewarding to be able to contribute to creating a stronger NHS for patients and staff in Sheffield.”
Trustees of the charity are independent and are accountable to the Charity Commission. They are appointed by the NHS Trust Development Authority on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health for an initial term of four years with the opportunity for a further term.
