Snow causes some disruption to non urgent services

Severe weather update for 21 January 2013 (7am)

Emergency services:
All hospital emergency services ARE being provided as normal today including Accident and Emergency, Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and dialysis.

Ambulance services:
Yorkshire Ambulance Services are only undertaking essential journeys today. There will NOT be any non-urgent patient transport provided and so please ensure you can make you own way home if you do come to hospital today.

Outpatient appointments:
The adverse weather today is causing some disruption to non-urgent services this morning but we are endeavouring to run outpatient clinics as normal where possible. If you are able to travel safely to and from hospital then you can check if your appointment is affected by the weather by contacting the telephone number on your appointment letter.

Antenatal and Fetal Medicine Appointments running as normal

Day case operations:
We are assessing how many non-urgent operations we are able to carry out today given the predicted increase in emergency demand. If you are due to come in for a non-urgent operation today please call the number on your appointment letter to confirm if it is able to go ahead.

Do not visit unless you can travel to and from the hospital safely and can make your own travel arrangements.
If you have to visit a friend or relative today please make sure you can get home safely as it is likely there will be significant public transport disruption.
