Trying for a baby? - Members event

In-vitro fertilisation techniques (IVF) have been developing over the years which is reflected in national figures which show that 1 in 4 women undergoing IVF go on to give birth to a healthy baby. Sheffield’s Assisted Conception Unit at the Jessop Wing; part of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has an excellent success rate and is at the forefront of developments.

If you have been trying for a baby without success or are interested in finding out more, then why not come along to the ‘Trying for a baby?’ health talk on Wednesday 14th January 2009 at 6pm at the Jessop Wing next to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Fertility experts, Consultant Dr Jonathan Skull and Embryologist Rachel Cutting will be speaking about infertility, the causes, treatments available and some of the new developments around the corner to help infertile couples.

Rachel Cutting is the Principal Embryologist;

“Many people come to us wanting to start a family so when they find out there are things we can do to help, it is the news they really want to hear.

“It is amazing that just thirty years ago, there was little hope for childless couples. Thanks to the ground breaking work in fertility treatments and advances in science we can provide a full range of treatments to help couples realise their dream.”

This event is for foundation trust members, but don’t worry if you are not already a member, you can join on the day and membership is free. A light buffet will be served from 5.30pm and the talk will begin at 6pm.
