Phlebotomy is the practice of drawing blood from patients for testing.
Our Outpatient Phlebotomy department can be located at the Royal Hallamshire, C Floor.
We have also introduced a drive-through blood taking service located at Building 183 (Former Blood Service and current Covid vaccination site), Longley Lane, Sheffield, S5 7JN. Click here for more information.
Our opening times at our drive through blood taking service at Longley Lane are Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) 7.30am - 5.15pm.
Our opening times at our Northern General Phlebotomy walk-in service are Monday - Friday, 8:30am to 4pm. The Phlebotomy department can be found in the Huntsman building on B floor.
Our opening times at our the Royal Hallamshire Phlebotomy department are Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 5:15pm.
Please note that the waiting time may vary and can, on occasion, be lengthy due to high demand for these services. As this service requires no appointment, it is difficult to predict activity at each site. Therefore, please be aware that the stated closing times are strict and if queues are excessive at the end of the day, services may close early to ensure adherence to the stated closing times.
The phlebotomy services at both the Royal Hallamshire Hospital C Floor Outpatients Department and the Northern General Hospital Phlebotomy Drive-Through on Longley Lane will no longer be running on Saturday mornings until further notice.
Patients should NOT attend the Royal Hallamshire C Floor Phlebotomy Outpatients Department or the Northern General Longley Lane Drive-Through on Saturdays.
