Emergency Eye Clinic

The Emergency Eye Clinic is open from 8:00am – 4:30pm - Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays.

How does the service work?

Patients with an emergency eye complaint will need to attend in person during the hours of 8am-4.30pm excluding bank holidays. It is important to note that not all conditions will need to be seen in the Emergency Eye Centre. Patients who do not have an emergency but need to be seen in person can receive advice and alternative options regarding appropriate treatment and review from the following:

• Local pharmacy for a specific treatment
• An optician
• Visiting your GP
• An appointment on a different day within the Ophthalmology Department

Clinic times

The Ophthalmology out-patient clinic is located on A-floor of the Out-Patient Building at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Clinics operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 8am and 5pm and on Wednesdays between 8am and 12:30pm.
