Visual Electrodiagnostics
Visual electrophysiology is a powerful, non-invasive tool in Ophthalmology and Neurology. It provides objective information about function, complimenting psychophysical information such as VA and visual fields and the structural information of imaging/examination. It can characterise the location of dysfunction and differentiate between disorders of the retina, optic nerves, and visual pathway.
Our service
Our team provide a wide range of high quality electrodiagnostic testing to ISCEV standards. We are able to test patients of all ages, with our adult clinic at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and paediatric clinic at Sheffield Childrens Hospital. Our patients come from not only Sheffield but the wider region of Yorkshire, Humber, and the East Midlands.

Referral forms
We accept referrals from Ophthalmic and Neuro consultants. Our referral forms ensure that we receive all the required details to make an informed test plan.

Referrals for patients aged 16 years and above should be emailed to sht-tr.ophthalmology@nhs.net
Referrals for patients aged under 16 years should be emailed to scn-tr.newreferrals@nhs.net
