We are one of 16 NHS Trusts who provide a new self-referral service offering bespoke psychological support for people who have been infected and affected by contaminated blood or blood products.
The service has been designed following significant research and engagement with the infected blood community, their families as well as NHS staff.
The service is here for all those who have been impacted and gives access to a safe space, where you will be listened to and understood. We work with you to create an individual care plan to provide the best possible care.
Infected or affected people can access our IBPS service via a national telephone line (0300 131 0444) that is operational 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Callers will need to provide basic contact details and will be connected with the most appropriate local IBPS centre.
Once you have been assessed, if support is required, a psychological review will take place and treatment provided by clinicians with specialist expertise in issues facing those infected or affected by contaminated blood or blood products.
Please note, the service does not offer support for mental health emergencies or crises. If you need urgent help, you should contact your local mental health service.
More information about the full range of services provided can be found by visiting the IBPS website.
