Physiotherapists work with individual patients to improve their strength, balance, mobility and overall fitness to enable them to return home safely or to a protected environment. As a provider of health care for local residents physiotherapists liaise closely with community services and agencies to ensure patients receive ongoing care and further admissions to hospital are prevented. As a tertiary hospital with several regional specialties such as spinal Injuries and neuro-medical conditions,

Physiotherapists also provide a large range of specialist Outpatient services for local residents and patients who have recently been discharged from hospital with musculoskeletal, neurological, medical or surgical conditions. They have close working relationships with consultants and other multidisciplinary team colleagues in the community so that appropriate patients can be referred onto other services and agencies in a timely way.
