Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides one of the largest orthopaedic services in England and provides treatment and surgery for:
• Hips and knees
• Feet and ankles
• Soft tissue knee
• Shoulders and elbows
• Spines.
The service is nationally recognised for delivering high quality care and excellent clinical outcomes. Our patient care is delivered by specialist teams, including surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists, physiotherapists, radiologists, pathologists, occupational therapists and other clinical professionals who look after patients suffering from bone and joint disorders.
Many of our surgeons have international reputations and have been at the forefront of new treatments and surgical
techniques. As well as receiving high quality care, NHS patients who are referred by their GP to have their operation
at Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust can now choose to be treated in one of several entres which provide orthopaedic care for the Trust.
This is only awarded to hospitals which demonstrate excellence in the things which really matter to patients, including safety, high quality care, short waiting times, cleanliness of the hospitals, and how responsive they are to their patients.
Our hospitals were recently rated as one of the top 10 for patient satisfaction, and outcomes from surgery are excellent with some of the lowest mortality rates in the country.
We know you want to have your surgery as quickly as possible, have an excellent recovery and return to your normal daily living. To ensure we can meet your needs we will offer you the opportunity to have your surgery at the centre which has the first available appointment. The offer is only made after careful consideration of your individual care needs.
Surgeons at all of the centres are carefully vetted and approved by Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are proud to have some of the best orthopaedic surgeons in Europe working in our centres. All of our centres have excellent patient satisfaction rates; rigorous infection control measures in place and enhanced recovery support to ensure you are back on your feet as soon as possible. Whichever centre you choose you can be reassured you will receive a consistent high standard of care.
We look forward to welcoming you at one of our centres.
