Our department is located on C Floor of Chesterman Wing, which is located on the Northern General Hospital campus. Please click here to see full campus map.
Most find it is best to approach us from the Barnsley road entrance. As you enter the Barnsley road entrance turn right at the first junction. You will pass the Hadfield and Brierley wings (pictured on the right) on your left and continue to follow this road until you see Chesterman Wing on your left.
When you enter Chesterman wing you will come to a T junction. Turn left and we are the second set of doors on the right, with a ‘GI Physiology’ sign clearly displayed above the entrance. Pease ring the bell and wait for a team member to let you in (opening times 8am-4pm).
Alternatively if you are entering the hospital from the main Huntsman entrance simply follow the main corridor right through to the Chesterman wing.
There is a charge for parking and parking fines are in operation in the hospital hours. We advise patients leave plenty of time to park as it can be challenging.
The Northern General Hospital is on the north side of the city, about three miles from the city centre, and is served by several bus routes.
