The service is delivered across the city to patients who are on a district /specialist nurse caseload.
GP’s can access the service for patients not known to Community Nursing Services if a contract is held with the service.
Training can be provided on theoretical and practical venepuncture.
The team also offer mentoring support to healthcare professionals that have attended the one day venepuncture training.
Nursing homes are able to pay for training for their nurses.
Patient referral
Criteria patients must be housebound and on a District / Specialist Nurse caseload and have a yellow care record in situ.
Referral process
Referrals into the service are via Single Point of Access (SPA)
