Alcohol Care team

Our Alcohol Care Team helps patients affected by alcohol-related health issues during their hospital stay. They screen, assess, and provide expert advice tailored to your needs. Whether you need support to manage withdrawal safely, want to make changes to your alcohol intake or want to access ongoing support following an admission, the Alcohol Care Team can support you. They also make referrals to community services to ensure you continue to access support after leaving hospital.

After leaving the hospital, a range of community services are available to support your journey to better health, including:

  • Local alcohol support groups and counselling services
  • Addiction recovery programs
  • Access to community detox and rehab facilities
  • Mental health and wellbeing support
  • Specialist nurses and outreach teams
