How we have helped

Donations to the hospital from the League of Friends have included:

£26,000 for the Zest Arts Project to run music sessions once a week at the Hallamshire Hospital, Northern General Hospital and Weston Park Hospital.

£15,000 – Enhancing the Healing Environment project. To fund physical improvements to the A Floor main entrance at the Hallamshire Hospital for the benefit of patients especially those with dementia.

£75,872 to provide a new electric bus to further develop the shuttle bus service around the Northern General Hospital site

£7,198 to refurbish Patient Areas on Wards Firth 3 and 4 and Huntsman 2. This will improve the environment in which patients are nursed and make it attractive and comfortable as they recover away from the bedside.
The day rooms will also have dining furniture so that patients can eat in a non clinical environment.

£1,139 for Medical Assessment Units 2 and 3 at the Northern General Hospital to provide a bariatric commode and rotunda. This assists staff and patients and allows for the safe movement, independence, and dignity of bariatric patients. It also helps to ensure that their planned rehabilitation continues.

£2,000 for Quiet Room furniture on Firth 8 at the Northern General Hospital. This provides a comfortable and suitable environment on the ward, where sensitive and upsetting news can be given in private, away from the immediate ward setting.
