League of Friends

The League of Friends at the Northern General Hospital is a registered charity and was established in 1969. The charity consists of dedicated volunteers who devote their time to raise funds for the hospital.
 
All funds are dedicated to providing additional services, facilities and equipment to patients, visitors and staff within the Northern General Hospital.

The League of Friends have supported Voluntary Services within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and have sponsored Jane Elliott as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Over 25's Project to promote, place and support volunteers across the Trust. The have also sponsored Nicola Ashton as the Voluntary Services Administrator.

The charity consists of a variety of opportunities to get involved including becoming a member and/or a volunteer for the Northern General League of Friends. Membership to the charity is open to all volunteers, staff and members of the public. Costing £1 annually, as a member you will receive an annual update and be invited to join us at our social events.

There are a variety of volunteering opportunities available including helping in the Leagues snack bars; trolley service and the outpatient meet and greet service.
