Waste Management

The Waste Management department is responsible for monitoring practices across the trust ensuring that our legal duties are being met, as well as best practice within the NHS.

Waste Managers undertake regular checks and audits across all sites to ensure waste is being stored, transported and disposed of correctly and safely.
As a waste producer the Trust has a legal duty under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to ensure its waste is disposed of safely.

The trust operates a number of schemes to recycle waste. This makes sense both environmentally and financially, as every tonne of waste removed from the household waste stream means less going to landfill and therefore less landfill charges to pay, these include: cardboard, printer cartridges, office paper, plastic bottles; also textiles and glass recycling
