Unit activity is regularly monitored and evaluated against a number of pre-determined measures.
Every patient will be offered the opportunity to feedback on their admission experience. Information from this feedback will be collated and from part of the overall evaluation of the unit. Review meetings are scheduled weekly and involve senior staff from both primary and secondary care. These reviews consider the continuous improvements required to the unit and supporting services.
The mechanism to escalate any individual problem that delays a preferred outcome for a patient is in place. This escalation allows involvement of the most senior person necessary to authorise the action required.
