Translational Clinical Research

The CVBRU has provided Professor Ian Sabroe with funding for three research PAs to support the development of the academic clinical direction for the Pulmonary Hypertension arm of the CVBRU.

The Pulmonary Hypertension team consists of Professor Sabroe (a clinical academic), Dr Allan Lawrie (a basic scientist) and three NHS clinical consultants, Drs David Kiely, Charlie Elliot and Robin Condliffe.

The team are highly motivated to deliver excellent research that will benefit both the CVBRU and patients by their participation in research and clinical trials.

In the past 12 months the CVBRU and PH team have recruited over 120 prevalent cases of PH with collection of blood, urine and clinical data. The data from these patients is now used for hypothesis generation and results checking.
