Matthew Fidler – Research Facilitator

Matthew provides clerical suport for SCOOP, as well as administering to the IT needs of the UoS staff.  He also helps with database entry for the TRIO study on an ad hoc basis as well as lending a hand with patient recruitment in to research studies.

Sarah Inglis – Data Entry Clerk

Sarah graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2008 with a BA in Journalism, and has been working for STH since that date in a variety of clerical roles.Initially she worked for the cardiac secretariat, before her contract was extended so that she could assume the role of clerical officer for the Vascular Outpatient service. From here she was seconded to the Vascular Angio Suite, before moving in to a data entry role for the Sheffield Vascular Institute where she was responsible for updating and maintaining internal and national databases. Sarah completed a temporary contract with the Cardiovascular BRU, clearing a backlog of data entry, before joining our study facilitators.

Sarah’s main responsibilities are data entry for TRIO and TRIO offset studies, and assisting in development of the database for the new FORSTEO study. She is also undertaking an MA in English Studies with the University of Lincoln.

Carol McGurk – Research Facilitator

Carol provides phlebotomy support for all our studies, as well as taking on clerical responsibilities for both the TRIO and the Amgen studies.  In addition, Carol handles SCOOP telephone calls.

Katie Smith – Research Facilitator

Katie is an ultrasound technician who measures patients for relevant studies. She provides clerical support for the SCOOP study and handles patient calls and queries. She is clerical support for finance in the department and processes invoices for payment.

Additional Information

Statisticians

We have developed a relationship with the School for Health and Related Research (ScHARR) for support in statistical analyses.

We have weekly sessions with Mike Bradburn and Neil Shephard, who collaborate with the investigators throughout the studies to provide statistical advice in the study planning, data analysis and data interpretation.
