Kim Naylor - Research Associate
As part of her undergraduate degree course, Kim did a one year placement evaluating the clinical use of ultrasound measurements of bone. After completing her degree, she studied for a PhD with the University of Sheffield, Department of Human Metabolism and Clinical Biochemistry. The main focus of her work was biochemical markers of bone turnover. Since obtaining her PhD, Kim has worked as a Research Associate in the department.
Research interests include:
• technical evaluation of bone turnover markers and their clinical application, in particular their use in monitoring the response to treatment.
• the use of finite element analysis models to evaluate bone strength.
Kim is also the Sheffield Musculoskeletal BioBank Research Manager.
