Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 came into force on 1st January 2005.
The purpose of the Act is to promote openness and accountability in the public sector by giving people a right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities.
Public Authorities include government departments, local authorities, NHS bodies, schools, colleges and universities, the police and parliament.
This Trust is a public authority.
The Information Commissioner is responsible for enforcing the Act and requires each public authority to routinely publish as much information about its work.
