As part of the charity’s ongoing work to support research and improve specialist treatment for patients with heart conditions Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust will launch the South Yorkshire Heart Appeal in November 2010.
The South Yorkshire Heart Appeal will raise funds to help reduce the odds of death from heart disease and ensure the people of South Yorkshire and beyond continue to receive the very best in specialist medical care at the South Yorkshire Cardiothoracic Centre, Northern General Hospital.
The funds we raise will support a variety of projects including additional state of the art equipment, cutting edge treatment, world class research and enhancing patient facilities.
Our aim is to ensure that the Cardiac Services within South Yorkshire Cardiothoracic Centre are at the forefront of advances in treatment and research into heart disease, which remains the UK’s biggest killer.
