What the Trust did in 2012 to eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation:
  • We introduced a new Trust Equality Impact Analysis Policy and provided training to forty-eight senior staff to support implementation of this policy.
     
  • We consulted on a new Interpreting and Translation Policy
What the Trust did in 2012 to advance equal opportunity for protected groups:
  • The HR Equality and Diversity group led a refresh of staff equality data.
     
  • The Stonewall Workplace Equality Index 2013 benchmarking exercise was undertaken by STH for the first time and it was agreed that an action plan would be produced in response to the results.
     
  • A Community Engagement Plan was implemented which included action to look at the diversity of people involved with the Trust apprenticeship programme and build links with the Sheffield Employment Forum which represents groups which support applicants who may be applying for posts in the Trust.
     
  • We held a Domestic Violence and Abuse Seminar in partnership with other organisations in the city working in this area.
     
  • We appointed a specialist Learning Disability Midwife.
What the Trust did in 2012 to foster good relations between people in protected groups and others 
  • We attended Sheffield Pride for the second year.
     
  • We continued to promote membership of the Trust to the diverse communities of Sheffield through our membership office.
